A little history

We moved to the beautiful Isle of Wight late 2006 from the mainland, I was going to retire!  Whilst wandering around Ventnor I found a book about Handmade Soap, after reading and having a go I pressed my efforts on to my friends at WI they liked it!  I then embarked on the massive task of researching the possibilities of making and selling.  After reading and then passing all the literature I had amassed to my husband I awaited his comments.  He did not understand it either! We read it several times it was so complicated I wondered was it worth the effort.  Help was at hand I was given the telephone number of a cosmetic testing laboratory they were brilliant and spoke to me in great depth explaining everything in simple language.  We were off!  After careful research we made our soaps and subjected our family to trying them all and listened to what they had to say made a few tweaks and settled on our range.  We then sent out soaps to be assessed and had to wait and hope that all would be ok, we knew we would not be able to sell without these assessments, after a short but worrying wait we got the go ahead and our soaps had passed.  The relief was immense.

We launched our soaps at The Gaffers Fair in Yarmouth in 2008 and they were so well received we could not believe it.  Since then we have worked hard to build our little soap business and sell at all of the shows on the Island.

We have a growing cliental of customers on the Island and also holidaymakers who have bought whilst visiting and now contact for more.

We are lucky to have the support of a number of local shops who also stock our product and our thanks to them is great.

My thanks to Doreen, Maggie and Annie from the health food store in Shanklin. Their help has been invaluable. They have showered, bathed and layered themselves with body butters. Sniffed new fragrances, encouraged and supported me. My thanks to you girls is immeasurable.

We use the beautiful beeswax from a local bee keeper when available and have used an Island company to bring you this site.

Our soap is made using the finest vegetable and Plant oils with botanicals and essential oils, we do not add any colour nor do we use parabens or SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate).  Our soaps are not tested on animals and are suitable for vegetarians.

Our soap has helped many who suffer with dry, itchy, split and troubled skin.  My husband has suffered for years with split and dry and very sore hands, he works in the construction industry and every winter his hands were so bad.  They are now healed and do not split and get sore anymore it has to be the soap and the fact that there are no nasty additives in our soap.
